WHAT IS NEEDED FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES-cont’d
- In addition to building individualized services, basic infrastructure for coordinated, community-based services for children is needed.
- This array needs a specific funding stream, for the infrastructure to be put in place (similar to the CSA Trust Fund.) Then, ongoing services could be funded in part with service fees such as Medicaid, CSA, private insurance and direct client fees.
- This array would follow children into the juvenile justice system and back to the community. Medicaid fees may not be an option for ongoing funding.
- This array of services could provide earlier interventions to prevent the child entering the juvenile justice system.
