• The children's services field has changed dramatically with new treatment technologies and greater understanding of diagnosis of emotional disturbance and mental illness among children.

• It is difficult to diagnose children with a specific mental illness. Professionals are reluctant to label young children with a specific diagnosis. Therefore, many private insurance policies will not provide coverage for treatment.

• Professionals who specialize in children's services are very scarce. New discoveries and treatment technologies make it difficult for other professionals to provide quality care for children.
